Day 8: The best place you’ve travelled to….

Oh my. Unbelievably hard choice. My hubby has always felt strongly about travel and therefore there is an embarrassment of riches to choose from in this category.

The trip that captures the best aspects of travel for me (the whole family was there, somewhere with unexpected and spectacular scenery, friendliest people on earth, historical points of interest) would be Newfoundland.

We took the children there for a 9 day trip….definitely not long enough….saw some of the most amazing views especially on the west coast of the province where we took a boat ride through areas that were more like the Pacific than the Atlantic side of Canada. A place where, when out for an early morning run, I could hear the laces hit my running shoe because the air was so still and the silence was so complete.

The beauty and history offered at L’Anse aux Meadows, where the Vikings first landed in North America, is remarkable. And yet, it was just one of the many places that made it the best place we’ve travelled to….
